IMPROVING SKIN'S COLOR WITH DERMABRASION

procedures.jpg

Both Microdermabrasion and Vibradermabrasion are performed with little discomfort, so no anesthesia is required. Procedures are usually completed in about 30 minutes, and patients may resume normal activity immediately. These simple, versatile approaches can be used on most areas of the body.

Both types of dermabrasion are especially effective in treating hyperpigmentation by encouraging new skin cell growth, allowing for more even color across the area treated.

MICRODERMABRASION

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical and non-invasive aesthetic treatment that mechanically exfoliates the epidermal layer of the skin by gently "sanding" the surface with a wand. Fine abrasive particles on the wand slough off the dead surface cells while a vacuum function suctions the cells back into the machine. Microdermabrasion stimulates the epidermis to foster new cell growth, imparting a fresher, smoother complexion with more even color and clarity. After several Microdermabrasion treatments, collagen production is also stimulated which helps improve skin's elasticity and tone for a more youthful appearance.

Microdermabrasion is performed with little discomfort, so not anesthesia is required. The procedure is usually completed in about 30 minutes, and patients may resume normal activity immediately. A simple, versatile approach, Microdermabrasion can be used on most areas of the body.

What improvements can you expect to see after Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is especially effective in treating hyperpigmentation by encouraging new skin cell growth, allowing for more even color across the area treated. Other benefits of Microdermabrasion include:

  • eliminating age spots and black heads

  • exfoliating the surface skin, resulting in a refreshed appearance

  • reducing fine lines and wrinkles

  • reducing or eliminating enlarged pores

  • treating acne and acne scars

Results are generally improved with several treatments performed over time.

Is Microdermabrasion a healthy choice for you?

Your practitioner will discuss the specific characteristics that make you a healthy candidate for Microdermabrasion, but the procedures is considered safe for most patients.

Mild side effects are usually temporary and may include:

  • slight reddening of the skin

  • minor bruising from the suction which resolves in several days

  • sun sensitivity that should be protected with a daily sunscreen

VIBRADERMABRASION™

What is Vibradermabrasion™?
Vibradermabrasion is a gentle exfoliation technique that removes dead, dulling surface cells with fine abrasive particles attached to a paddle. The paddle is moved lightly and evenly over the skin, vibrating at a high speed. As it vibrates, the particles slough off the cells, stimulating new cell growth within the epidermis. With repeated treatments, Vibradermabrasion™ helps thicken collagen to improve youthful resilience in the skin.

Vibradermabrasion™ is performed with little discomfort, so not anesthesia is required. The procedure is usually completed in about 30 minutes, and patients may resume normal activity immediately. A simple, versatile approach, Vibradermabrasion can be used on most areas of the body.
